#100 DAY PROJECT — DAY 2
Last night, after I’d edited and written, I pulled out the paint. Watercolor is fast and easy, so it’s my go-to medium.
First, I decided to play with some wet-on-wet, meaning I misted this 6×9-inch paper then put down blobs of Mayan blue and Scarlet on the page and just let the color “bloom” on the page. When it dried, I used more of the same two colors to doodle flowers on top of the blobs. I should have used a finer brush, but it was fun practice anyway. After that dried, I went in with white pen and drew some more flowers to fill the page. The last thing I did was add some details in silver watercolor paint that you can’t really see in this picture. All in all, I’m satisfied this piece will work well when I cut it into smaller pieces for collage or bookmarks. 🙂
This one is on a small card. Again, just playing with blobs. Indian yellow and blue. When it dried I used a vermillion pencil to add some definition to the flower and a sepia pencil with black pen for the leaves and stems. I have several small pieces like this that I’ll probably put together and make into a small art journal for fun.
I’m not sure what I’ll do tomorrow, but sometime this week I need to make some jewelry to refresh my Etsy store…
