After my two challenges ended, I took a break. I have so much on my plate as a writer/editor right now that I really didn’t figure I had the time. But a funny thing happens when you step away. You start to yearn to create and look for inspiration to fill that need for color and shapes and textures everywhere. I saw a very loose watercolor of a pot of flowers online, and fell in love with the colors. I would never have used so much gray if I hadn’t fallen in love with the artist’s painting. So, I thought, can I recreate?
Well, no. I said her painting was very loose. I can’t for the life of me just let go quite so much. However, I used similar colors and did produce a floral I love well enough I’m going to put it into a frame for myself. 🙂
This painting is 6×6. I used khadi paper, Daniel Smith watercolors, a charcoal pencil, and a white Posca pen.
